SPIRITUS: (03-17) A Monthly update from the Respiratory Technology team at the WIMR.

This is the March 2017 newsletter from the RespiTech Group at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research.

This month RespiTech members have attended a number of events. Of note, the Woolcock hosted the Annual Ann Woolcock Lecture of which a number of the RespiTech team attended. Mali, Alaa, YY, Larissa and Emilie spent a weekend at the TSANZ lung cell workshop in Canberra and Paul and Daniela attended the Australian Lung Foundation Dinner hosted in Parliament house. Giulia Ballerin was invited to present  at the ASM student competition and did an excellent job explaining how bacteria have secret personalities. Finally Paul attended the Farewell dinner for the Hon Jillian Skinner at the Great Hall, University of Sydney

As always, we say farewell to old colleagues and welcome new ones. This month Mariam Mamlouk returns from Maternity Leave to continue her PhD with the RespiTech group and Alaa Tulbah returns as a Postdoctorate Researcher. Also, Jesse Xu returns to undertake a PhD with the group. Jesse will be working on innovative therapies for lung cancer. Welcome back guys!
